General Information

Common Questions

How long shall I plan for my appointment?

We usually schedule treatment appointments for 90 minutes.  This allows us time to test, diagnose your problem tooth or teeth, and still have time to complete the treatment.  Single-rooted or front teeth often require less time.

"Examination Only" appointments are 30 minutes in length and if the patient schedule permits, treatment could be provided on the same day with your consent and agreement of fees.

Will the treatment be painful?

We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, we will inject a small amount of anesthesia to gently numb a concentrated area of your mouth. For most patients, the feeling of numbness usually subsides after 2-3 hours.

Will I need to return to your office for follow-ups after the procedure is finished?

Yes, for most root canal treatments, we recommend that patients return to our office 1 year after the procedure was finished. Our office will send a reminder notice to you when you are due for a recall appointment.

It is important to note, that endodontic treatment usually requires follow up treatment at the originating dental office.  Unless prescribed by your dentist, temporary restorations will be placed by Dr. Fulsaas requiring a timely follow-up with your dentist.
